Homecoming Festivities
SMSU Homecoming continues to be a favorite event for alumni, friends, students, and community members. In addition to cheering on the Mustangs, there are a variety of events throughout homecoming week that give you the opportunity to connect with other alumni, reminisce with old friends, or tour campus if it's been awhile since you last visited. We hope to see you back home soon!
Be sure to save the date for Homecoming 2025 on Saturday, October 11th, to celebrate our Mustang spirit and Southwest traditions.

The Southwest Celebration is an exciting event to kick off the Homecoming Weekend. Join us on Friday, October 10th, as we celebrate the Alumni Award recipients, highlight the special projects currently underway on campus, and kick off the annual coming home of our Mustang Family.
Homecoming Parade
We are excited to start a new tradition for the SMSU Homecoming parade by holding it on campus. This move not only brings the festivities closer to the heart of our campus community but also allows for a more immersive experience for all attendees. Alumni will enjoy VIP seating near Founders Hall, offering a prime view of the parade while reconnecting with old friends and making new memories.
A map of the parade route and parking will be shared soon.
Alumni Tailgate
The Alumni Association has our own tailgating tent at Homecoming. Look for the large white tent with the brown Alumni tent next to it. Be sure to stop by and check out the SMSU Alumni merchandise, grab some drinks, play yard games, and more! This is all part of our tradition: The Game Day Roundup.
Game Day Roundup
The Game Day Roundup will commence immediately after the conclusion of the parade on Mustang Trail and the R/A Facility parking lot and will include inflatables, burger feed, live music, tailgating and much more. It’s a great way for SMSU fans to enjoy a Mustang Experience!
