The Southwest Celebration is an exciting new event to kick off the Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 11th at 5:30 p.m. in the SMSU Upper Conference Center. This event will showcase many activities happening across campus with various department faculty and students in attendance to visit about their programs and highlight any special projects on the horizon.

We will also take time to recognize our Alumni Award recipients including Alumni Achievement Award winners Deborah (Geiver) Norlin ’84 and Steve Klein ’75, G.O.L.D. Award winner Doria Drost '19/'21, and Honorary Lifetime Membership Award winner Senator Gary Dahms.

Registration for the Southwest Celebration is $50 per person and includes hors d'oeuvres prepared by SMSU Culinology students and complimentary drinks during the social hour followed by dinner served by Chartwells. All proceeds from this event will support scholarships and academic programs across campus.
