Outstanding Senior Award

Active both on campus and off, our 2019 Outstanding Senior has been a role model to fellow students and has taken a leadership role as a student, a teammate, and a community member.

He carries a 4.0 GPA, and has worked in the Academic Commons area the past two years as a tutor in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It’s rare a student to tutor in 3 separate subject areas.

Our Outstanding Senior excels in the classroom, having earned High Honors Dean’s List accolades 7 times; NSIC Academic All-Conference 3 times; Academic All-District 2 times; and First Team Academic All-American 2 times.

An Exercise Science major from Rochester, Minnesota, our Outstanding Senior is a four-year member of the Mustang football team, and was a captain this past season. He was selected the 2018 NSIC Glen Galligan Award recipient, which goes to a football player who participates for four years, is academically superior and makes a positive contribution to the institution.

A group of 11 faculty members nominated this year’s Outstanding Senior. In their combined narrative, they said of this year’s recipient: “His personal commitment to excellence raises the level of discourse in courses and contributes to making the students around him better as students, and better as people.”
